Calling all HON Day Team Captains! Simple steps for creating a Team.

CAA TeamHands On Nashville Day, Nashville’s biggest day of service benefiting Metro schools, is right around the corner. On Saturday, September 21, more than 1,500 volunteers will help makeover 50-plus Metro Nashville Public Schools. Are you ready for this big adventure?

We’re looking for team captains to rally their friends, coworkers, neighbors, and anyone who wants to join in the fun. Here are a few helpful hints to get your helping hands in gear and create a team using our system.

1. Create an account / Log in to your account.
(If you already have a account, simply log in using the green ‘login’ button in the upper right corner of our site, and go to step #2.)
> Click here to create your account.

After completing the form, click submit and you will be automatically logged into your account.

2. Create a team.
And yes, YOU are the team captain. (Thanks for stepping up!) When you are logged in, click on the My Account section in the blue menu bar.

Create a team screen shotTo the left, click on Create a New Team. You will then be asked to enter simple information about your team. No lie detectors, we promise. As you can see, you are automatically on the team and listed as the team captain.

Click Create Team at the bottom of the page. You’ll see a “please wait” message appear as the hamsters in the wheel do their work. Once the system is done, you’ll see a confirmation page. WAY TO GO, you have made a team! If only all things in life were this easy. All of your team members will receive an email with instructions for how to accept the invitation.

** Starting on Tues., Sept. 3, you’ll be able to sign up your team for a specific HON Day school site (see #4 for more info). Creating a team does NOT mean your team is signed up for HON Day. You must also sign up for a specific school when registration opens on Sept. 3.

HONft2011_388(If you do not have firm commitments from all of the people you’ve invited to be on your team, that’s ok. You can still go ahead and sign your team up for a school. The people who are “pending” will get a slot. But it is important that you confirm these volunteers at least one week before HON Day, and then go in and remove the names of those who are not joining you, so that other volunteers can fill in those slots! Under My Account / Upcoming Opportunities look for the HON Day opportunity and click on Manage My Team. A pop-up window with team member names will come up. Select the people who have confirmed that they WILL be joining you for HON Day. Click SUBMIT.)
